THIS WAS YEAR ONE

Tonight I am going to crash harder than I've crashed in a very long time.

Here's to:
the end of year one,
going to school and actually learning how to do something,
the inexplicable new comraderies between the only ones who truly understand.

Goodnight for about fourteen hours.

APARTMENT THERAPY

Today I was informed (by a lovely customer) that one of my items was featured in Apartment Therapy's Kichn Blog. Lovers of AT, I know you will understand my excitement :)

HOME SWEET HOME

One thing that quickly became clear during my first semester at FIT was my increasingly blatant propensity towards conceptual design.

Who knew.

THE BULB IS BACK

And on the twenty-fourth day,
there was LIGHT.

SUNSHINE

The photographic light that I use for the photographs of everything in both of my shops was handed down to me by my father. I believe it was a gift to him from my mother, and it is about fifteen years older than I am.

The precious lightbulb had been going strong for 30+ years, until the entire tripod fell flat on its face just the other day.

The light is German made, and somewhat obsolete. By "somewhat", I mean all the websites I found regarding the maker were in German, and/or the actual replacement bulbs were not for sale. But after pulling out some serious Nancy Drew style googling skills, I found a match for the bulb.

It's backordered until two weeks from now.
...Really?

Sunshine, my former colleague, it looks like it's just you and me today.

TEN

My apologies for delayed order shipments, delayed email responses, delayed phone calls, text messages, shipping quotes, etc. For the past two weeks I've been somewhat consumed by a family emergency, causing things to be a bit backed up in my shops. It's come to an end, in the best possible way, so expect things to return to normal within the coming days.

Thank you for understanding even if you are not reading this. <3
